Who Wants to Be Cybersecure? is a culturally adapted mobile cybersecurity awareness game developed for research purposes by the Persuasive Computing Lab, Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is used.
Who Wants to Be Cybersecure? collects only the following information:
We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifying information through the app.
Your username, game data, and usage data are used solely to:

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other sensitive device features.
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties, advertisers, or external services. All data remains within the app and is used solely for the research purposes described in this policy.
Your data is stored securely. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorised access or disclosure.
De-identified data will be retained for 12 months after the study ends and then permanently deleted.
This app is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
